HISTORICAL BACKGROUND OF SAMPINITON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
|
Sitio Sampiniton is located in Barangay Bantolinao, Manjuyod Negros Oriental. Seventy years ago, Sampiniton has preserved its natural setting. It was on the year 1945 that an educational system has risen in its mountains. The hope of the people to have a school has been granted by the government. Through a series of negotiations, Mr. Demetrio Acab, a well-off native citizen of Sampiniton donated a portion of his massive lands, measuring 7, 562 sq.m to the government to start an educational system.
The first teacher who took the challenge by the government was Mr. Antonio Acibo. The people in the community worked hand in hand and built a temporary structure made up of bamboos, coogon leaves and woods. At first, there was only one Grade level, on the later years another grade level has been added (Grade I and Grade II). But then, there was only one teacher at this point. On the later years, with the added Grade III and Grade IV levels the government has sent additional one teacher and the school has been formally declared as Sampiniton Primary School.
